The Problem
Active ultra long range RFID provides an accurate means to track and monitor assets for a wide variety of applications. Tags secured to individual assets transmit a unique ID to a reader used to collect the RF transmission, process the data and send it to a software application. It is an ideal solution for applications such as warehouse management and manufacturing where a number of readers would be used to cover a specific area. Once outside of the reader's range the tag can no longer be read. Assets in transit between locations may not be in range of a reader but the user may still wish to monitor location, quantity and movement.

The Solution - ULR RFID/GPS Location
The system with the additional “bolt on” RFID reader module is mounted on the Trailer or Container and individual assets are equipped with active RFID tags. The user can configure the Asset - RFID unit to perform a GPS location fix every hour and activate the RFID reader to scan and read the RFID tags within its vicinity. The unit can be configured to store this information together with location and time either for immediate transmission or subsequent transmission at a later time. When linked with a sensor to detect a breach in condition or activated because of a door opening, the user has the option to configure the RFID module to activate and operate in the same manner as described above.
